Image Quality & Material Used

We (9xmarine) specialize in both types of graphics. However, most of our boat decals are multi-color art work printed using color inkjet printers. Although we try our best to print our images sharp and clear on the media we use, there are limitation. The material we use is more like “plastic” rather than “vinyl” it has over 100 lb. of tensile strength in any given square inch of the surface. This plastic is coated with thin emulsion to hold ink in its place. This emulsion has limitations. The higher print quality requires substantially more dispensed ink than emulsion can absorb. Sometimes, large black images require a water rinse to remove extra ink. Without extra ink removed, lamination film will slip-away in less than a year. You also need to understand and be reasonable that your boat is not an “image portfolio”. All decals applied to your boat will be viewed from at least 5 feet away. At that distance your eyes can’t determine as to Dots /Per/Inch quality of our print. We always attempt to strike a balance between image quality and longevity of the decal.

Decal Repair

On occasion, depending on the circumstances of use, the decal can rip away leaving behind white film on the surface of the fiberglass.
To attach the decal back we recommend using automotive upholstery adhesive spray available in every automotive store. Do not spray anything but the back of the decal itself.
After applying adhesive, please wait for 5 minutes until adhesive solidifies and turns to white-mat finish. Small mist of “Fantastic” blue color window cleaner will be necessary to apply to the decal’s new adhesive side so you can move decal in to position.
Apply pressure to the decal to remove all air from under the surface.

Important Warranty Note:
The decal top material which contains film and image should not separate or fade. If the top plastic laminate has separated from the image, you should contact our company for a free replacement of the damaged product.
